Terms of service.
Last updated: May 4, 2026 · Effective: May 4, 2026
In plain English: Meros gives you AI-generated meal plans. They're suggestions, not medical advice. Treat them like a thoughtful friend who cooks — useful, but check the dish before you eat it.

The agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and Meros ("we", "us") covering your use of the Meros iOS app and meros.kitchen (collectively, the "Service"). By installing the app or creating an account, you accept these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EU/UK) to use Meros.
- You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account.
- One account per person. You can add household members within the app, but a single account isn't a shared login.
- The information you provide (calorie goals, dietary needs, allergies) needs to be accurate. The plan is only as good as the inputs.
Acceptable use
Don't use the Service to:
- Break the law or violate someone else's rights.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or harvest data from the app or its API.
- Submit content that is unlawful, abusive, defamatory, or designed to mislead.
- Attempt to circumvent rate limits, security measures, or paid features.
- Use the Service to provide commercial nutritional, dietetic, or medical advice to third parties.
AI plans & medical disclaimer
Meal plans, recipes, swap suggestions, and chef messages are AI-generated, produced by Claude (Anthropic) using the inputs you provide. They are not medical, nutritional, or dietetic advice and are not reviewed by a registered dietitian, physician, or any clinical professional before delivery.
Calorie counts, macro estimates, and ingredient quantities are approximations. Real-world calorie values vary based on the specific brand, cooking method, and portion. Use the plan as a starting point, not a clinical prescription.
If you have a medical condition (diabetes, kidney disease, eating disorder history, pregnancy, etc.), are taking medication that interacts with food, or have specific clinical nutritional needs, consult a qualified professional before following a Meros plan. The Service is not a substitute for professional medical care.
Allergies & safety
You can record dietary restrictions and allergies in the app, and Meros will attempt to honor them. However, you are ultimately responsible for verifying that any recipe, ingredient, or scanned product is safe for you to eat. Always check labels yourself — barcode databases can be wrong, products reformulate, and AI can make mistakes.
Cook food to safe internal temperatures. Refrigerate perishables. Use your judgment — Meros doesn't know your kitchen.
Pricing & subscriptions
Meros offers a free tier and may offer paid subscription tiers. If you subscribe through the App Store:
- Apple bills you directly per the price shown at purchase. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period.
- You can manage or cancel from your iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
- Refund requests are handled by Apple per their terms; we can't process refunds directly.
- We may change pricing for future billing periods. Existing subscriptions retain their price until the next renewal.
Our content, your content
Our content. The Meros app, website, brand, wordmark, copy, design system, and software are owned by Meros and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service while these Terms are in effect.
Your content. You retain ownership of the data you put into Meros — pantry items, ratings, weight log, and so on. You grant us a license to process that data solely to provide and improve the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy.
AI output. You are free to cook from, share, or otherwise use the meal plans and recipes the Service generates for you. AI-generated content may not be eligible for copyright protection in all jurisdictions; we make no warranty about its uniqueness or non-infringement.
Termination
You can stop using Meros and delete your account anytime from More → Account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, that present a security risk, or where required by law. We'll give reasonable notice where we can.
Warranty disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We don't promise the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that meal plans will produce any particular health, weight, or nutritional outcome.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Meros and its officers, employees, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) US$50.
Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits. Where that's the case, this section applies to the maximum extent permitted.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, except where local consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring a claim in your home jurisdiction.
